The Awareness Factor had its grand opening and invited the community to a Wellness Fair where the public could learn about several resources for self-improvement. Amy Kelly talked with Lorena Santiago and Arlyce Price and learned about the center and some of the courses that will be offered. The Awareness Factor is located at 392 West 200 South in Tooele. Tooele County Relief Services: Helping the Homeless
Amy Kelly met with Karen Kuipers of Tooele County Relief Services and learned about how they are helping the homeless in our county. The interview took place at an art auction called "A Taste of Art", that was sponsored by the Tooele County Board of Realtors.

Amy Kelly receives a shooting lesson from Neal Davis of Stansbury Park. Neal is a certified shooting instructor, and he also works at the Lee Kay Center for Hunter Education. He also goes over gun safety rules at the beginning of the lesson.

Costa Vida Serves Fresh Mexican Food
Amy Kelly met with Kellie Carlse at Costa Vida in Tooele and learned about their fresh Mexican food. Everything is made from scratch and nothing comes from a can. They also make all their tortillas by hand through out the day, so they are always newly made fresh. They also offer many options such as vegetarian and gluten free.

Tooele Skyline Nature Park Ribbon Cutting
Amy Kelly met with Tooele City Mayor Patrick Dunlavy and Parks and Recreation Director Kathy Bell at the ribbon cutting for the new Skyline Nature Park. This park is something new for Tooele because it has electronic activity games that make physical activity fun. It also has a total body fitness station and a perimeter track for jogging and walking.

Tooele Pioneer Museum
Mike Gaba met with Jim Bevan at the Tooele Pioneer Museum and learned about some of the early history of Tooele County. The museum has a variety of exhibits from many time periods, in addition to the items from the pioneer era. They also have one of the finest collections of Native American arrowheads and artifacts in the state.

Tooele County Fair 2012
Amy Kelly met with several people at the fair and talked to them about their experiences. Amy talked to three children that won blue ribbons, Miss Tooele County 2nd Attendant, and two volunteers that work with the exhibits. Tooele Valley Railroad Museum
Tyler Egan met with Jean Mogus at the Tooele Valley Railroad Museum in Tooele and learned about the history of the railroad in Tooele. The railroad once went down the center of Vine Street and was essential for the mining activities. In addition to the trains and railroad exhibits, there are also exhibits about the mines and the military from Tooele's early days.

Horses Help Veterans with PTSD
Mike Gaba met with Laurie Sakaeda, PhD in Grantsville, Utah and learned about equine facilitated psychotherapy. A program called "A Helping Hoof" brings military veterans and horses together to help with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other issues. Three veterans also discuss their experiences with the program.

Speirs Farm in Tooele

Toria Nyx Talks About Her Music
Laura Whittaker talked with singer Toria Nyx and learned about her upcoming album. Toria grew up in Tooele and has been singing and writing songs since an early age, but did not think she would have a chance at being a professional singer. Her fortune changed when a music producer heard her singing karaoke one night.
